Scary, No Scary + The Man Suit: Artist Book Project

We will be working with local writer and educator Zachary Schomburg for this next assignment. We will each choose a poem (or poems) by Schomburg and then create an artist book (or books).

Form, craft, structure, narrative and point of view will be heavily focused on as well as addressing topics of pacing, sequencing and rhythm. Hopefully you will be filled with inspiration from the awesome trip you took to Reed College with Jason!

Schedule: 

Thursday, November 10th: Zachary Schomburg will be talking with us about his work. Poem selections will be happening. Start brainstorming about formats. Moodboards, research and sketching will be happening…

Tuesday, November 15th: Moodboards, Sketches and Project Brief Due. Book Demo Day. Field Trip to Floating World Comics at 11.

Thursday, November 17h: Bring in all work. All research. All sketches. Rough mockups are DUE. Small Group Critique.

Tuesday, November 22nd: Critique. Mockups please. Visit from Zach

Thursday, November 24th: NO SCHOOL 

Tuesday, November 29th: FINAL CRITIQUE

Thursday, December 1st: Books DUE!
